Undergraduate Scholarships

Boston University College of Fine Arts Scholarships

The College of Fine Arts Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding artistic talent in an examination or through portfolio review. Please visit the websites of the College of Music, Theater or Visual Arts for information on portfolio and examination requirements.

Applicants to the College of Fine Arts will be considered for all merit or art scholarships with or without standardized test scores, provided they have applied by the December 1 presidential scholarship deadline.

American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

The African Union Emerging Global Leaders Scholarship is aimed at high-achieving international students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the United States and who are dedicated to positive civic and social change. It is intended for students who will return home to improve the under-resourced and underprivileged communities in their home country.

The AU EGL Scholarship covers all billable AU expenses (full tuition fees, room and board). The scholarship does not cover non-billable expenses such as mandatory health insurance, books, airline tickets, and miscellaneous expenses (approximately $4,000 USD).

Renewable for four years of undergraduate study, based on ongoing satisfactory academic performance.

Scholarships for International Students at Illinois Wesleyan University

Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) offers Merit-Based Scholarships, President’s Scholarships, and Need-Based Financial Aid to international students applying to enter the first year of undergraduate programs. In addition to scholarships, students may be eligible for IWU-funded scholarships, loans, and on-campus employment opportunities.

The merit scholarships are worth $16,000 to $30,000 annually and are renewable for up to four years. President’s Scholarships are full, renewable scholarships for up to four years of study.

Clark University Global Scholars Program

Clark University offers the Global Scholars Program open to high school students who are not permanent residents or US citizens, as well as US citizens/permanent residents who are residing abroad and will complete their entire high school education outside the United States.

A scholarship of $5,000 to $25,000 annually (subject to conditions) and a guaranteed taxable bonus of $2,500 for paid internship or research assistance earned toward academic credit during the summer following sophomore or junior year is included. .

Fairleigh Dickinson University Scholarship for International Students

A range of merit scholarships is open to international undergraduate students at this private university, with campuses in New Jersey and across the border in Vancouver, Canada. One of them is the FDU International Scholarship – part of the Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students – worth up to $24,000 per year. Renewable for up to four years. SAT/ACT is not required.

Masters Scholarships

Fulbright Foreign Student Program

The Fulbright Program operates in more than 160 countries around the world and has given nearly 400,000 participants the opportunity to study, teach or conduct research in each other’s countries and exchange ideas.

Approximately 8000 competitive merit-based scholarships are awarded annually in most academic disciplines and fields of study.

To participate in the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, an applicant must have completed their undergraduate education and hold a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

Application details and terms of the Fulbright scholarship vary by country of citizenship and program. Prospective applicants should refer to the individual country pages for program availability and contact information or see a list of current programs.

AAUW International Fellowships

The program provides support to women seeking graduate or post-doctoral study in the United States for women who are not US citizens or permanent residents, and who intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career.

Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the United States or have a nonimmigrant visa if they are resident in the United States. Women who are, or expect to be during the fellowship year, a US citizen, US permanent resident, or dual citizen with the US and another state are not eligible. They also need an academic degree (earned in the United States or abroad) equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree completed by November 15, 2021.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford University cultivates a diverse and interdisciplinary community of emerging leaders from around the world and guides them to collaborate, innovate, and connect as they prepare to meet the complex challenges facing society. Through the King Global Leadership Program, scholars will expand their knowledge, develop skills, and strengthen character, as they will work with communities, as well as attend workshops, meetings with leaders, local and global study trips, and personal development opportunities.

Homer Higbee International Education Award

This is an annual award for one student from the United States and an international student who has made a significant contribution to advancing international understanding at MSU.

The Homer Higbee International Education Award is designed to honor students who are pursuing a full-time degree at undergraduate and graduate level and who demonstrate the characteristics that Homer Higbee represents. This includes making significant contributions to support international awareness at MSU by participating in programs that promote intercultural understanding on campus and in the community.
