Up to 49 students of the NMMC School have starred in the 2021 Scholarship Examination conducted by Maharashtra State Examinations Council (MSCE), Pune. Of the 49 students, 34 are from the fifth grade and 15 are from the eighth. About 1,280 students from civil administration schools appeared in the offline exam held in August 2021.
Civil Affairs Chief Abhijit Bangar claimed that this was possible due to the quality of education being provided in the city’s civil schools.
According to the Department of Education of NMMC, a total of 663 students from class 5 and 617 students from class 8 appeared for the scholarship examination held on August 12, 2021. Among them, a total of 49 students appeared on the merit list.
The top three out of 34 students from class 5 of NMMC schools are Vidya Shashikant Ramgire (258 score), Prajakta Deepak Ghorpade (254 score), and Vaidehi Pradip Navale (254 score). They are all from NMMC 42 in Gansouli.
Similarly, among the students who got scholarships for class 8, the top three students are Ganesh Ramdas Mor (210 score), Sumit Mohan Taidee (198 score), Sonal Shailendra Khedkar (192) who are also from School No. 42 in Gansouli. . A maximum of 14 students out of 49 students belong to civilian schools in Gansouli.
Head of Civil Affairs Bangar said that while focusing on the quality of education, we stress that students are mentally prepared to face competitive exams right from the start. They are prepared accordingly for scholarship examinations.
He added that students are provided with supplementary study materials and educational facilities. “There is regular guidance from their teachers and this has resulted in more students making it to the merit list,” Bangar said.
