WASHINGTON, Jan. 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)–The Air Force Assistance Association (AFAS) today announced a new partnership with Columbia University of Southern (CSU) to offer a 60-credit, $25,000 scholarship to military spouses.
“We are very grateful to the team at CSU for creating this much-needed opportunity and partnership with us,” said AFAS CEO, retired Air Force Staff Sgt. Calith O. Wright. “This scholarship is a great step for us to help provide an online degree offer for engaged military spouses.”
Spouses of active-duty Air Force or Space Force members can apply for the scholarship each year to pursue an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree.
“Our goal in creating this new scholarship is to help address the unique challenges that military spouses face when it comes to completing a degree program while facing frequent moves, deployments, and other life demands,” said Carl Childs, Director of Military Outreach at CSU. . “We look forward to a long-term partnership with AFAS to provide military spouses with this scholarship each year.”
