Animal Behavior College Announces The Betty White Memorial Zookeeper Assistant Program Scholarship

Happy 100th birthday Betty White!

.. I just don’t know how I would have lived without animals around me. I am fascinated by them – the local pets and the wild community. It’s just the most interesting things in the world to me…”

– Betty White

VALENCIA, CA, US, January 17, 2022 / EINPresswire.com/ – The College of Animal Behavior (ABC) today announced, on its website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, the launch of the Petit White Memorial Zookeeper Assistant Scholarship.

With the sad news of Betty White’s passing on December 31, 2021, the College of Animal Behavior thought it would be most appropriate to dedicate a scholarship in her memory. White devoted her life to helping animals in need. While she was extremely passionate about both cats and dogs, she also contributed to the wellness of exotic animals everywhere.

Over the years, Betty White has worked with many animal welfare organizations including the Los Angeles Zoo Commission, the Morris Animal Foundation, the African Wildlife Foundation, Actors and Others for the Animals. She has been a member of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association since 1974 and has served the association as a zoo commissioner for eight years. She has received many honors for her achievements in helping animals. In 1987, Betty White was awarded the Animal Welfare Award by the American Veterinary Medical Association for her charitable work with animals. Betty White funded the transportation of otters and penguins from the Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Soon, the Betty White Wildlife Rapid Response Fund was launched in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This helped scientists better understand the impact of the spill on marine life.

For her endless contributions and efforts to advance the welfare of animals everywhere, and in honor of what would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday on January 17, 2022, ABC is offering a new scholarship in her name; Betty White Memorial Zookeeper Plugin Scholarship. The Betty White Memorial Zookeeper Assistant Program Scholarship, valued at $1,995 (USD), will be awarded to one applicant selected each year from the College of Animal Behavior. To apply for the scholarship, all applicants must meet the requirements of our registered students, all terms and conditions of the scholarship and submit an essay of 300-500 words. In this article, applicants should tell us why you are passionate about exotic animals, what made you interested in working in zoos, and how you can make a difference with ABC’s Zookeeper Assistant certification. All essays must be submitted by the deadline of March 31, 2022 via email to studentsatisfaction@animalbehaviorcollege.com.

This scholarship will give the selected future student the opportunity to pursue his or her passion by making a difference in the lives of animals. Working as a certified Zookeeper assistant gives you the opportunity to make a difference every day. Our curriculum consists of 10 stages covering a variety of essential topics for a zoo keeper assistant including zoo biology, zoo keeper requirements, animal husbandry, animal behavior, animal housing, record keeping, safety, and more.
