Applications accepted for Chief Washakie Memorial Endowment Scholarship at UW

(Fremont County, Wisconsin) Scholarship applications are now available for the Chief Washakie Memorial Endowment Scholarship for the 2022-23 academic year at the University of Wyoming. The application deadline is March 1, 2022.

Applications can be submitted through the online WyoScholarships system, detailed with the guidelines below:

Log on to WyoScholarships Scholarships at www.uwyo.edu/wyoscholarships.

– Click the “Login” button.

– Log in with your UW username and password.

– For new users, complete the general application questions when prompted and click “Finish and Submit” when done.

– Find the Chief Washakie Memorial Endowment and click the “Apply” button.

All required materials must be submitted by the deadline for consideration.

Each applicant must have strong ties to the Wind River Indian Reservation community and be pursuing an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or certification to hold a current position.

Full-time and part-time students on campus, or enrolled through distance learning classes, online and at all class levels, including graduate/professional students and second bachelor’s degree students, are encouraged to apply.

Applicants are requested to describe their participation in the Wind River Indian Reservation community; to explain how they plan to use their education in favor of reservation; And to provide a list of their honors, achievements and activities.

Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic ability, potential, and achievements; Participation in school, community and tribal activities; Possibility to contribute to the reservation community upon graduation; and financial conditions. Prizes will be in varying amounts depending on the funds available and the qualifications of the applicant.

Applicants are expected to be accepted into UW and apply for Federal Financial Aid by submitting the 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov. Students can complete the FAFSA form now for the next academic year.
