Applications Sought For Govt Scholarships | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: The Department of Higher Education has invited online applications for scholarships under the e-Medhabruti and Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Bhasabruti schemes for 2021-22 from eligible students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, technical and vocational courses in and out of the state.
Application forms will be available from January 5 at the website www.scholarship.odisha.gov.in. The application deadline is February 5th. The directors or heads of institutions will validate applicant records by February 20.
The government has issued guidelines for selecting students for these scholarships. Under the e-Medhabruti scheme, the government provides financial assistance to deserving students in Odisha whose parental income does not exceed Rs 6 lakh annually.
The government will provide 6000 scholarships for UG and 2500 for PG students. There will be 6000 scholarships for students who are pursuing technical and vocational courses. Undergraduates will get INR 5,000 per year, while students pursuing PG, Technical and Vocational courses will get INR 10,000 per year.
The student will be eligible for the scholarship for the total duration of the course. In the Technical and Professional categories, only Professional Courses and UG Integrated Courses are eligible.
As per the eligibility criteria, the student must be a permanent resident of Odisha. The student must have obtained at least 60% of the marks in the previous qualifying examination. They can apply for Medhabruti only in the year of enrollment (first year).
Students studying abroad or pursuing higher education through open universities or distance/correspondence learning will not be eligible for the scholarship.
The state government has also started the Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Bhasabruti Scholarship in the name of the legendary littérateur Fakir Mohan Senapati to encourage outstanding students to undertake postgraduate studies in Odia language at UG and PG level.
Under this scheme, the beneficiary will get a one-time scholarship of Rs 20,000. Students who gain admission with Odia as an honors subject (first year) in the degree colleges after passing the Plus-II examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, with 60% marks, will be eligible to apply for This is a scholarship at UG level.
Similarly, a Masters student of Valleys with a 60% BA (Hons) grade in this subject can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship will be available to 1200 UG and 300 PG students.
