BLINN COLLEGE FOUNDATION REACHES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP MILESTONE

The Blinn College Foundation has reached a milestone in helping students achieve their educational goals.

First Financial Trust based Brian and the Bryan family donated $15,000 to create 300NS The Blinn College District Scholarship is awarded by the Foundation. The foundation has received more than $10.5 million in grants and contributions since its inception in 2000.

“Creation of 300 Plain College InstitutionsNS “The scholarships awarded demonstrate how much our community cares about Blaine College and its students,” explains Dr. Mary Hensley, Blaine College District Advisor. “On behalf of everyone at Blinn, I would like to thank the many donors who have benefited so generously from many of our students.”

Sam Sommer, chairman of the foundation’s board of directors, said 300NS The scholarships awarded represent a wide-ranging support of the Foundation’s mission.

“We very much appreciate the gift of First Financial Trust and the Bryan family that has brought us to this milestone,” Sommer said. “Thanks to the tremendous support the institution receives from individuals and companies, we have been able to help thousands of students achieve their educational goals.

“Three hundred scholarships is a huge achievement, and we look forward to another 300 scholarships.”

The First Financial Trust and Bryan Family Scholarship will be awarded to graduates of Bryan High Schools who attend Blinn.

“Blinn College has been a wonderful member of the Brenham and Bryan-College Station communities,” said Austin Bryan, Senior Vice President of First Financial Trust. “He has done so much for both communities, and this is an opportunity to give back to Blaine and also to benefit the needy students in our community.”

Brian recently joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

“It is exciting for me to make this donation because now I am just coming on the board,” he said. “I would like to be able to send a message to the foundation that we appreciate the opportunity to be represented but also to reciprocate with help.”

The Blinn College Foundation provides financial support for activities and programs that enhance educational opportunities for Blinn students.

Scholarships are available to new and returning students from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines, and experiences. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of high academic achievement, participation in student activities, and community involvement.

Students can apply for 300 Blinn Scholarships by completing a single application at www.blinn.edu/scholarships. Before applying, students must complete an application for admission to Blinn College at www.applytexas.org.
