WashingtonAnd January 27 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The CFP Board’s Center for Financial Planning (the “Center”) today announced a new record-breaking one-year scholarship award for students and recent graduates working toward their CFP® certification. The Center awarded 80 new scholarships in 2021 (an increase of 67% from 48 awards in 2020), providing more than $300,000 To recipients (50% increase from more than $200,000 awarded in 2020).
This achievement raises the center to a total of 180 scholarships offered, providing more than $800,000 For aspiring CFP® Professionals since launching our first scholarship program in 2016.
“2021 was another record-breaking year for the Center’s scholarship programs, with a significant increase in the number and amount awarded to aspiring CFP® Professionals,” said the CEO of the CFP Board. Kevin R. Keeler, CAE. “Scholarships are a key component of the center’s mission to create a more diverse and sustainable financial planning profession. We congratulate all those awarded scholarships in 2021 and look forward to successful coursework in 2022 and beyond.”

The Center currently administers ten different scholarship programs jointly launched with sponsors and donors. Each scholarship program assists individuals in completing the education and exam requirements for the CFP® certification. Five new scholarship programs were launched in 2021:
