Cinco de Mayo Festival en El Camino is coming to historic Main Street in Pleasanton, May 7. featuring this family-friendly event a free street dance with Grammy award-winning artists brings together local restaurants, food trucks, live music and entertainment, vendors, a Low Rider & Antique Car Show, Little Amigos Area, cornhole tournament, tamale eating, margaritas, hot sauce and mole competitions. A Mr. & Ms. Cinco de Mayo Contest offers scholarship money for the high school winners. For the little ones, the Little Elida Look-Alike contest will put your daughter on the Main stage with a chance to meet Elida in person and win fun prizes.

The city of Pleasanton’s goal is to grow the Cinco de Mayo festival into a countywide event that is free and fun for the whole family while celebrating our community’s rich Hispanic heritage. There are so many ways to participate in this event for kids of all ages and for businesses.

The free street dance during Merry on Main brought a crowd of approximately 5,000. The Cinco de Mayo street dance with headliner Latin Grammy award winner Elida Reyna, South TX Homies, Leroy Urrabazo and Mariachi Nuevo Estilo is guaranteed to bring out big crowds. There are many sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to lend their names. Put your business in front of Atascosa County through sponsorship. You will receive brand recognition via print, web, social media, signage, naming rights and shout outs from the Main Stage.

Parents from all Atascosa County ISDs, please encourage your sons and daughters to run for the opportunity to be the first Mr. & Ms. Cinco de Mayo. The winners will receive scholarship money and be introduced on the Main Stage during the headliners show. Mr. & Ms. Cinco de Mayo is open to Atascosa County high school students, ages 15-18. To enter, students need to submit a short bio including their plans for the future and a brief essay on, “What Hispanic culture Means to Me.” The entire submission should be no more than 250 words.
