CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools have sent an email to hundreds of parents that included the personal and medical information of nearly 3,000 students.
The CMS email was to confirm all students enrolled in the After School Enrichment Program (ASEP). It was sent on the afternoon of August 6 and went to hundreds of Fathers.
The email included a spreadsheet titled “Registration of Confirmed Sites” for each student enrolled in the ASEP program including medical information such as allergies and conditions including diabetes, ADHD, celiac disease, etc.
There are over 2,900 students in the spreadsheet.
The email also included the location the students were attending, parent and home cell phone numbers, and whether student fees were paid.
WBTV reached out to CMS for a statement on Tuesday and received a response from Eve White, executive director of communications at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
