In 2022, Columbiana County Dairy Boosters will offer one additional scholarship. The scholarship was made possible by memorial contributions from friends and family of Paul Arter and Glenn Heron. The winner will be the scholarship applicant from among all scholarship applicants for the Columbiana County Dairy Booster.

Two or two scholarships will be awarded to members of the District of Columbia Dairy Industry family attending an institution of higher education depending on the number of applications received. Scholarships are applied to tuition fees, books, housing, etc. The scholarship amount is $1,000. To be eligible, the applicant must be a member of a District of Columbia family whose primary occupation is directly involved in the dairy industry, including but not limited to, dairy cow milk production, dairy cow rearing, and sales of dairy equipment/supplies/supplements ( Providing dairy products is the primary focus of sales). The student must prove enrollment, or submit a letter of acceptance, to an institution of higher education or a two- or four-year graduate school. Applicants are not required to limit their educational choice to a field related to agriculture. The student must be considered a full-time student. The applicant must maintain a minimum grade point average of B or 3.0. Previous scholarship recipients may not re-apply.

Scholarship notices will be sent to all DC high schools, placed in the DC Buckeye Dairy Booster newsletter, and all local newspapers. Scholarship forms can be obtained from:

The student must return the completed application and letter of acceptance and include two letters of recommendation. Each application must also include an official transcript from the applicant’s high school or college. All applications must be postmarked by Saturday, 12 March 2022. Any application that does not meet these requirements will not be considered for the award.

The decision of the District of Columbiana District-appointed Buckeye Dairy Boosters panel of judges will be final. The committee will judge applications by number only. The names of the judges will not be provided. The award will be made on a non-discriminatory basis regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age, disability, or religious affiliation.

The prize will be announced after the winner is notified.
