Dare to Dream Virtual Event Gives Sports Industry Chance to Connect with Next Gen Production Professionals

With the growing importance of developing next-generation talent in virtually every sports production entity, Dare to Dream Experience, a virtual career mentorship program set for April 8-10, 2022, comes at an ideal time for the industry. SVG, as an industry partner, will support the event via panel discussions and are further designed to give high school and college students and young professionals insight into how to develop a career in sports production.

“We are very excited to welcome SVG as an industry consultant and invite its members to join our efforts, as we grow and develop a cutting-edge workforce in sports, TV/film production, crew development and broadcast media,” Diane McGrawDare to Dream, creator and producer. “Our goal is to provide high school and college students and young professionals with critical information, tips, and guidance to help them find a path to secure future employment and careers. SVG will play an important role in this effort.”

Ken KirschbaumerCo-CEO of SVG, says the SVG post will focus on providing practical advice to students on how to develop a successful career in sports production. SVG has already made a number of efforts in this regard (most notably the SVG Spirit and Sounds software) and those efforts will be highlighted at this event. He adds that addressing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and opportunities to promote more women and people of color in the industry is vital.

“Everyone is interested in reaching the next generation of sports production professionals and we believe this event is the perfect opportunity to stand up to a diverse group of students and young professionals who often don’t know where to start,” he says. “And for companies in our industry, it’s an important opportunity to reach a generation that has grown up, frankly, with a loose emotional connection to broadcast networks and even unions. This event can help bridge that gap.”

McGraw and her company McGraw Productions bring a wealth of experience to the event as McGraw previously served as chairperson/CEO of the Los Angeles Sports and Leisure Commission, Central Florida/Orlando Athletic Commission, Philadelphia Athletic Conference, Louisville Athletic Commission, and Executive Director of the Travel, Tourism and Film Commission of Pennsylvania. She was also the first woman to be inducted into the National Association of Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame in 2017.

In the center of the event will be a virtual platform displaying the content of the main stage and virtual pavilions. Students present will be able to easily visit the virtual stages and suites, allowing them to quickly experience a wide range of content and communications. Booths are an ideal platform for networks, tournaments, and production companies to create a virtual presentation designed to connect with students. There are a number of sponsorship opportunities that can get nets, championships, etc. in front of potential new hires for today and tomorrow. Her recently released book, Behind the Scenes and Career Resource Guide, will be made available to students who register for the event, and there is also an opportunity for industry professionals, like you, to participate in a variety of panels on the virtual platform. Companies can, for example, sponsor their own virtual room to promote their brands/services, participate in discussions and demonstrate their commitment to the future of our industry.
