High school students who will graduate this year and are interested in Hawai’i Medical Service Association’s Kaimana scholarships have just a few weeks left to apply for this year’s awards.
Applications must be submitted online by Friday, Feb. 25. Interested students can click here or here to apply.
HMSA is celebrating the 17th year of its Kaimana Awards & Scholarship Program, which honors Hawai’i high school seniors and high schools for excellence in academics, athletics, community service, healthy activities and sportsmanship.
HMSA will award up to 15 students for $5,000 scholarships each.
To be eligible, applicants must graduate with a grade-point average of 2.75 or higher. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, requirements have been relaxed and participation in athletics and involvement in the community service are encouraged but not required.
Applicants must also submit an official transcript, write a personal statement and essay about community and well-being and submit two letters of recommendation from school faculty, mentors or coaches.
