Islamabad: Government Social Protection Program Ehsas announced a one-month extension for scholarship applications to enable as many eligible students as possible to apply for this opportunity.
The new deadline for submitting online applications is December 31, 2021. The previous last date was November 30, 2021.
“Due to the delay in the admission process for many public sector universities in the country, the deadline for submission of applications for the Ehsaas Scholarship has been extended. Senator Dr. Sania Nashtar stated in an official statement that the decision has been taken to enable as many deserving students as possible to apply for these the opportunity.
Since the portal reopened in the first week of September 2021, about 77,210 applications have been submitted and there are 23,740 cases in progress.
The Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship is for students from low-income families with an income of less than Rs 45,000 per month and marginalized areas so that they can be assisted with their undergraduate studies. Up to 135 public sector universities, recognized by the Higher Education Authority (HEC) are part of this programme.
Students enrolled in four to five-year undergraduate programs at public sector universities are eligible to submit scholarship applications for 2021. Eligible students can apply through the online portal: https://ehsaas.hec.gov.pk/.
In the past two years, 142,000 sense scholarships have been awarded to undergraduate students nationwide. 50,000 scholarships will be awarded this year to deserving students. The Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship covers 100% tuition fees and a monthly stipend.
Beneficiaries who have been awarded an undergraduate Ehsaas scholarship in the past two years will continue to receive scholarships up to completion of their undergraduate degree based on their academic performance.
The total budget of the program is 24 billion rupees. Over the course of four years, 200,000 undergraduate scholarships will be awarded to students on the basis of need and merit, and 50% of the scholarships will be allocated to girls.
