DUBAI, January 17, 2022 (WAM) – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Cyber ​​Security Council to promote cyber-skills training in schools and prepare Emirati youth for it. Jobs in the technology industry.

HPE and the Cyber ​​Security Council will launch various initiatives nationwide and expect to work with more than 500 students annually.

The MoU was signed by Mohammed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber ​​Security for the UAE Government, and Ahmed Al-Khelafi, Managing Director, UAE, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, at Intersec, the largest security exhibition in the Middle East, currently taking place. in Dubai.

As an extension of the HPE Emiratisation Program launched in 2019, the partnership with the Cyber ​​Security Council will support the government’s vision to enhance the skills of Emirati youth and encourage them to study the most sought-after technological fields at university. The HPE Youth Accelerator will include workshops for schoolchildren, orientation days at HPE sites, career guidance, university lectures, an internship program as well as an early careers program for graduates.

The partnership with the Cyber ​​Security Council includes three separate components that support schoolchildren, college students, and alumni. HPE will partner with local primary and secondary schools to deliver workshops in the school and at HPE headquarters, including the HPE Digital Life Garage in Dubai – the company’s regional innovation hub. The workshops will provide insights into the IT industry, different roles and a day in the life of a technologist, as well as university schoolchildren assistance and career advice.

HPE is also expanding its internship program for college students, offering 6-month work placements that enable students to experience the corporate environment, the IT industry, and different roles within business. Interns split their time between work and study, gaining real-world experience as well as job-specific training. The program is also supported by a series of lectures by HPE executives on technology topics including artificial intelligence, high performance computing, smart edge, and the cloud.

For graduates, HPE’s Early Career Program unlocks their potential and enables them to acquire the essential skills needed for a successful career in the IT industry. The two-year program includes exposure to the full scope of HPE’s business, including technology solutions, sales, marketing, and support functions.
