Falcons swim well in district meet

Team Skyridge swimmers placed third in the boys’ competition and fifth in the girls’ division of the 10 Alpine DistrictInvitational Teams on December 17 at the Lehi Legacy Aquatic Center.

Lone Peak was the runaway winner in the girls’ team standings, but on the boys’ side, Pleasant Grove beat American Fork by one point.

The 200-yard Skyridge medley relay teams each took the silver with Danny Cannon, Jade Matthews, Kate Pullman and Katelyn Andrest in the girls’ squad and Spencer Storrs, Nate Muir, Taylor Brown and Wade Ogden for the boys’ team.

Anderst won the gold in the 200-yard freestyle by a narrow margin over Faris but was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle by more than 15 seconds. Ogden took bronze in the 200-yard individual medley. Cannon finished second in the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke.

Moir finished third in the Boys’ Shooting 500 free finish. Stowers took silver in the 100 backstroke while Ogden finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The Falcon Falcon finished fourth in the two freestyle relay races. In the 200-yard event, the swimmers were Mason Hummert, Lincoln Burr, Skylar Taylor and Ogden. The 400-yard team included Hummert, Tyler Gibby, Nathan Wright and Muir.
