Free Community Dinner

March 25, 5-6:30 pm

Mayfield United Methodist Church is hosting a free in-person chicken and pasta dinner at the church located at 7747 Mayfield Road in Chester Township. A vegetarian option will be provided, and carryout will also be available upon request. The church holds monthly dinners the last Friday of every month.

st. Mary’s Fish Fry

Fridays, 4:30-7 pm

st. Mary Catholic Church, 401 North St., Chardon, will host its annual all-you-can-eat fish fry buffet from 4:30-7 pm Fridays in Lent through April 8.

Pricing for dine-in guests is $15 for adults, $7 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Carryout pricing is $13 for adults and $6 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under choose two items free.

All proceeds benefit St. Mary School’s tuition assistance fund.

Tunebackers Chinese Auction

March 26, 11 am to 5 pm

The Berkshire Tunebackers are hosting their 11th annual Chinese auction and 50-50 raffle at Berkshire High School. Auction drawing is at 5:30 pm There will be performances by the band and choir.

Items may be picked up after the drawing or at the high school on March 27 from 8 am to 1 pm Proceeds benefit the Berkshire music program.

There will also be a craft show at high school on Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm

GEL Breakfast

The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET) will discuss “Automation in Manufacturing” at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (GEL) breakfast at Kent State University – Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road, Burton.

Happy Tails Benefit

Happy Tails Cat Sanctuary is holding its 40th Anniversary Benefit at Patterson Fruit Farm’s Orchard Hills Party Center in Chester Township. Registration begins at 4:30 pm

Event includes food, silent and Chinese auctions, 50-50 raffles and cash bar.

Tickets are $40 per person and will be held at the door unless requested in advance.

Summer Youth Aviation Camp

The Experimental Aviation Association Chapter 5 is hosting its annual weeklong day camp for middle school students going into grades six through 10 who are interested in flying.

Summer Youth Aviation Camp will take place June 6 -10 for new campers at the Geauga County Airport in Hangar 3 in Middlefield from 9 am to 3:45 pm After the camp, there will be an opportunity for campers to take a Young Eagle flight on June 11.

Space is limited to 18 students. Registration forms and $150 fee are due by April 28. Scholarships are available.
