As Shire youth plot their next steps in life, applications for Gunnedah Community Scholarships have opened to help them on their way. Local residents under the age of 25 who are preparing to embark on their own higher education adventure are encouraged to apply for financial aid, which has helped more than 380 students so far. Read more: The fund was created 19 years ago, and in that time, more than $370,000 has been awarded across more than 387 scholarships to students to help with expenses, such as textbooks, tuition, moving and travel costs, and living expenses. Scholarships covered many fields, including medicine, civil engineering, accounting, agriculture, allied health, animal science, law, architecture, arts/theater, education, information technology, nursing, and social work. The application period has been extended this year so students will have time to receive their GCSE results and UAC offers before applying for a scholarship. The Board will contact those who have already submitted an expression of interest.
