Lincoln County residents who are studying to become a nurse, imaging technologist, pharmacist, pharmacist, or other healthcare professional are invited to apply for this $1,000 Mary Decker Scholarship. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 15th.
The scholarship is named in memory of Mary Decker, who believed in the power of education and the advancement of rural health care in North Lincoln County. She was a board member of the North Lincoln Hospital Corporation and North Lincoln Health District. In 2008, friends Ron and Nancy Usher, along with other donors, created the foundation’s first endowment fund in her memory.
To qualify, applicants must be:
- Residents of Lincoln County for at least one year.
- Enrolled in a healthcare degree or degree program at an accredited college or university, with preference given to those enrolled in a two- or four-year undergraduate degree program.
- He works at least part time.
- Take a minimum of nine semester credits per semester.
The applicant’s financial need, along with academic achievement, will be strongly considered.
