Henley Scholarships on offer to support first year apprentices and students | Cowra Guardian

Cowra students going to university or taking a course / TAFE next year have the opportunity to facilitate their transition to higher education thanks to the Tom and Margaret Henley Trust.

The Henley Turust University Scholarship and TAFE Scholarship are generously provided by the Tom and Margaret Henley Trust to encourage and encourage students of Cowra High School and St. Raphael.

It is a one-time grant applicable to the first year of higher education at a university or a post-secondary TAFE apprenticeship course.

The amount offered through the scholarship this year will be:

University – first year only: $5000

Apprenticeship / TAFE – Year One Only: $1000

The Rotary Club of Cowra is the trustee and invites all students who will be attending a university in the next year or will be TAFE trainees/students to apply.

Applicants are asked to apply if they have not already done so in their schools by calling Secretary Bill Murphy at 0417211364 or Kit Chambers at 9260 6342 or 0456429260.

Applicants may also email COWRAROTARYCLUB@gmail.com to request an application form.

TAFE/Trainee applications close on January 15th, while undergraduate applications are required as soon as possible.

Rotar Kit Chambers member said the scholarship was a great opportunity for students.

“We thank the generosity and idealism of Tom and Margaret Henley when they established this trust in 2003,” he said.
