Clearwater, Florida, Dec. 8, 2021 /PRNewswire/ – (ISC)² – the world’s largest non-profit association of certified cybersecurity professionals – today announced that it is accepting applications for the 2022 Women’s Cybersecurity Scholarships and the Graduate Cybersecurity Scholarships and Cybersecurity. Scholarships. Applications for the Cyber Security Scholarship for Women are due on February 28, 2022. Applications for the Cyber Security Scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students are due on March 7, 2022.
The scholarships are part of an effort to close the cybersecurity workforce gap – of 2.72 million professionals in demand – by providing future cybersecurity professionals around the world with scholarships to prepare them for a rewarding career in this important field.
“Supporting young talent in their educational studies is one of many ways to expand the pipeline of candidates interested in cybersecurity careers,” said Tara Wisniewski, Executive Vice President, Advocacy, Global Markets and Member Engagement. “The industry urgently needs more diverse perspectives and fresh talent to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. And through Scholarships (ISC)², we want to create more opportunities for individuals who have historically been underrepresented in cybersecurity and inspire more young people to pursue a career in security Cyber”.
(ISC)² More than $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded in 2022. Up to 20 scholarships, worth $1,000 to $5,000 each, will be awarded as an undergraduate and graduate cybersecurity scholarship, and up to 10 Women’s Cyber Security Scholarships, worth between $1,000 and $5,000. Applicants are evaluated based on academic excellence, passion for the industry and financial need.
