The Illinois Valley Leads Group and its foundation have established a second scholarship with the Illinois Valley Community College Foundation.
The annual IV Leads Scholarship for the Trades is open to students between the ages of 22 and 40 in career and technical education programs such as automotive technology, engineering, computer-aided design, electronics, electrical, HVAC, manufacturing, and welding.
IVCC President Jerry Corcoran said the group is excited to offer this scholarship to those who further their education in common areas of commerce.
“We are delighted to once again partner with IV Leads Group and their foundation to support adult students,” Corcoran said. “This award will provide much-needed support to students who are pursuing high-demand tech careers.”
The scholarship will be awarded annually starting in fall 2022 in the amount of $1,000. In May of 2021, IV Leads established its first award, the IV Leads Young Professionals Scholarship.
Founded in 2016 IV Leads Group serves young professionals between the ages of 22 and 45 looking to advance their leadership capabilities. The group focuses on leadership education and development skills.
The deadline to apply for the new scholarship is 9pm Thursday 10 February. Applications can be found at www.ivcc.edu/scholarships.
