Kruep receives Greenville scholarship

Greenville – The University of Greenville has named the Dakota Krupp of Mulberry Grove as the recipient of the McAllaster Honors full scholarship.

The scholarship of $29,998 is offered for Fall 2022 and is renewable annually. School officials said Kruep demonstrates the leadership qualities and academic excellence that the university and scholarship sponsors look for when selecting a recipient.

“I am excited that Dakota has been awarded the McAllaster Honors Scholarship,” says DeWayne Neely, a member of the McAllaster Honors Scholarship Program Committee. “I had the opportunity to meet Dakota on Scholarship Day and observe her work through a group project with peer students. I was impressed by her confidence, calm leadership, and ability to work with others.”

Kruep is involved in many activities in her high school, including cheerleading, student council, and FFA, and will be part of the cheerleading program at Greenville University.


“It feels like a dream, I couldn’t believe it when I found out about it [I received the scholarship]She said. “I am excited to represent the McAllaster Honors Scholarship.”

The McAllaster Honors Scholarship Program sponsors talented students to serve God and neighbor through Christian learning and research work. Program opportunities include uniquely challenging academic coursework, honors thesis, and special events.

“Learning is a delightful project,” said longtime English professor Elva McAllaster, who goes by the names of GU’s honors programme. Students will understand what I meant when they participate in this intimate learning community with its rich academic, social, and spiritual experiences.

To qualify for the McAllaster Scholars Program, students must have a high school GPA of 3.3 or higher. The program is limited to 30 students per year.

One hundred percent of Greenville University students receive some form of financial aid. To qualify for these and other scholarships at the University of Greenville, apply at Greenville.edu/apply.
