Kurelic: Talking Ohio State Top Targets

Good evening Bucknuts members and visitors! There is plenty going on with Ohio State football recruiting so let’s get started! I will of course have plenty more throughout the night and tomorrow.

1) I’ve recently updated the Top Targets list in our Bucknuts/247Sports database. Many of the Buckeyes’ top remaining targets landed their Ohio State scholarship offer very early. However, two players in particular that are now absolutely top of the board guys that were offered just a few weeks ago are linebacker Tickett Curtis from Many, La., and safety Malik Hartford from West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West. It’s not always when you are offered and these two show that. Another player who was not offered early, but is drawing plenty of attention from the Buckeyes and is now on our Top Targets list is offensive lineman Olaus Alinen from Windsor (Ct.) Loomis Chaffee School.

Curtis was offered by the Buckeyes on Jan. 18 and is being heavily pursued by Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and is working on setting up a visit to Ohio State. If you haven’t read the article I posted on Curtis on Saturday and watched Curtis’ junior season Hudl video, I highly recommend doing so. Hartford was being recruited by Perry Eliano at Cincinnati and Eliano is now making a strong pitch for the Buckeyes. Hartford landed the offer from the Buckeyes on Jan. 22 when he visited Ohio State. Alinen was offered by Greg Studrawa on Dec. 16, but is now drawing heavy interest from new Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye.

And speaking of Ohio State Top Targets, I have plenty more in the next few items this evening…
