LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Scholarships Available through GCCF

To the editor:

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 Scholarship Program.
Applicants can visit GulfCoastCF.org/scholarships to review scholarship requirements and complete the online application. The application deadline is March 4 and scholarship awards will be announced in late spring.
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation helps students of all ages pursue higher education at accredited two- and four-year colleges, universities, or technical schools. Applicants must reside in Sarasota County, Charlotte County, or Boca Grande, and must plan to attend a post-secondary institution during the 2022-23 school year.

Gulf Coast awards scholarships from the nearly 70 scholarship funds it manages, including many that are established by donors to support specific fields of study or help students from specific schools or communities. Since the scholarship program was established in 1997, Gulf Coast has awarded nearly $9.5 million in scholarships to help students pursue higher education. Last year, the foundation awarded 526 scholarships totaling nearly $620,000.
Gulf Coast is a public charity created in 1995 through the sale of the Venetian Hospital. It is now the charitable home of more than 950 families, individuals, businesses and organizations. For more information visit
