Talented women footballers in South Lincolnshire are invited to apply for a new scholarship programme.
Young Dreams Project – co-owned by Dipping Rangers player coach Luke Steele – is launching a new girls’ program in partnership with Stanground Academy in Peterborough and hopes to attract talented young people from our region to apply.
The program begins in September 2022 and is exclusively for girls after 16 years of age who are looking to continue their education.
Education programs will be taught by highly qualified and experienced school staff, and training programs provided by UEFA qualified coaches.
YDP aims to ensure that all students, whether in a Level 2 or Level 3 program, achieve academic success, develop their athletic talents and prepare for a future career, be it in the sports field or elsewhere.
Luke Steele, a former professional footballer who has played for Manchester United, Coventry City, Peterborough United and Nottingham Forest said: “Since the launch of YDP, we have wanted to build the reputation of women’s sport in the city.
“We work with some great sports and want to give young women in the region the opportunity to follow in their footsteps.”
An open demo event is taking place Monday, December 20, at 1 p.m. at Stanground Academy, Peterborough Road, Peterborough, PE7 3BY.
