Mary Frances Bagarley Powell He died peacefully on the morning of December 20, 2021. Mary was born on April 16, 1935 to the late Floyd and Lola Frances Stillman Bagarley.

Her husband, Paul Thomas Powell, preceded her in death. Three brothers, Charlie Lee Bagarley, Dorothy Richardson (Reverend Harding) and Margaret Craneville.

Her daughter survived. Joan Paul Hepler (Dean), son; Thomas Dale “Pete” Powell (Diane); grandchildren, Michelle Helper (David Lengle), Michael Hepler (Amber), and Brad Powell (Shannon); grandson, Michaela Hepler (Cameron Cheryl); sister; Mary Nicholson (Worth); And many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Powell attended Harmony High School and retired from the Iredale-Statesville school system. Mary loved God and enjoyed reading her Bible. She loved her family and always shared how proud she is of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to tell anyone she met, even complete strangers, how much her family cared about her. Mary was a fan of NASCAR. She really loved the animals, especially her beagle, Bob.

Mary will lie in state at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, December 23, 2021. A small graveside service will be held at Iredale Memorial Gardens on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 3 p.m. with the Reverend. Erville Jones takes over the presidency. Memorials may be made at Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28677; to Rescue Ranch, 1424 Turnersburg Highway, Statesville, NC 28677; Or the New Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 149 New Hope Way.
