Nicolet College Foundation accepting scholarship applications through Feb. 28

For Commander Tomahawk

RHINELANDER – Individuals planning to attend Nicolet College during the 2022-2023 academic year are encouraged to apply for a Nicolet College Foundation Scholarship to help cover college costs, a statement from the college said.

“We have heard time and time again from students how the scholarships have been a tremendous financial aid for them to get the education they need to move forward in life,” said Heather Shallock, CEO of the Foundation. “Every year we give out hundreds of scholarships. Our donors want Nicolet students to receive this money, but the top students need to fill out a scholarship application, which is fairly easy.”

The application period will run until February 28 to cover costs from the fall semester 2022 through summer semester 2023.

Online application is available at www.nicoletcollege.academicworks.com.

Scholarships range from $250.00 to $2500.00, and funds are available to both new and returning Nicolet students to help pay for tuition and books, Nicolet said.

Part-time and full-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible for scholarships.

Emma Rose, a scholarship holder and liberal arts student transferred to the university, said she was grateful for the money and happy with her decision to enroll in Nicolet.

“I moved to Nicolet last fall, and I can really say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my academic future,” said the 2020 Lakeland Union High School graduate. “This college has given me the flexibility to continue my work as well as go to school, all without sacrificing classes with great professors and benefiting from a positive learning experience.”

Shallock noted that scholarships are only available due to the generosity of the foundation’s donors.

“They really believe in the value of a Nicolette College education,” she said. “They see how it can improve individuals’ lives and also benefit the communities in which alumni live and work.”
