Odisha Govt Offers Free NEET, JEE Advanced, JEE Main, UPSC NDA Coaching

In order to provide free training to students for national level competitive exams including NEET-UG, IIT-JEE and NDA, the Government of Odisha has connected educational technology company Unacademy. The Government of Odisha and Unacademy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The state government aims to help ninth graders prepare for exams of poor and merit. Students will have to appear first in the online aptitude test which will be held on January 15th. Registrations for the test will begin on December 15th with the deadline being January 12th.

Ninth grade students from state and non-state secondary schools of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) can apply for the scholarship which will be awarded to thousands of students across thirty districts for a period of three years. As per the eligibility criteria, the annual income of the parents of the applicant must be less than Rs 6 lakh.

Students can visit the Odisha Scholarship Test section of the Unacademy website to register for the hour-long online test which will have 50 per cent weight in the selection process while 50 per cent weight will be given to the marks obtained by the students in the matriculation examination.

Three hundred scholarships will be given to students who wish to undertake training for NEET-UG and IIT-JEE, while four hundred will be awarded to students preparing for the National Defense Academy examination. There will be three separate aptitude tests for the courses and while only students from the science stream can enroll in the NEET and JEE training, the NDA internship is open to all eligible candidates from any stream.

Students eligible for an aptitude test will then be required to submit a certificate showing their parents’ annual income by tehsildar. According to a notification from the state government, scholarships will only be awarded after careful examination of the applicant’s documents. In the event that a student does not join the course, priority will be given to students in the waiting list of the region to which the students belong.
