Outback Bowl travel, tickets and event info available

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – There is still time for the Penn State Nittany Lions to join the Pennsylvania State Nittany Lions when they face the Arkansas Razorbacks at the Outback Bowl on January 1, 2022.

In addition to traveling to the Outback Bowl with the official Penn State Bowl tour, there are additional opportunities for Penn Staters to interact with alumni and fans in Tampa pre-game. And if you’re not traveling, connect with your fellow Penn Staters, where many of the Alumni Association’s alumni classes will host viewing parties. Full details below.

Tour packages

A new hotel package has been added

Space is limited.

Official travel packages include hotel accommodations, bus transportation, a welcome reception, a pre-game tailgate and more on the tour from On Location – Anthony Travel, the official travel partner of the Penn State Alumni Association, Nittany Lion Club, and Penn State Athletics. Tickets are available and can be purchased online. For assistance, call 1-800-NITTANY from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or visit the Price Jordan Sports Ticket Office in person from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. You can also send an email to golions@psu.edu.

On-site media coverage

The Alumni Association will provide on-site social media coverage of the pot experience, including video coverage, photography, featured stories and live broadcasts, including a buzzing gathering, if applicable. We encourage Penn Staters to follow the Alumni Association on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay in touch and for opportunities to share your favorite travel experiences and memories of the season.

Volunteer Service Project

On December 31, the Pennsylvania State Alumni Association and the University of Arkansas Alumni Association will “clean up as a team!” The organizations partnered with Keep Pinellas Beautiful to organize a beach cleanup in Gandy Beach. The volunteer effort will begin at 9:30 a.m. and finish by 11:30 a.m. Gandy Beach is about a 15-minute drive from downtown Tampa. An event reminder with directions and any additional details will be sent to everyone who registers the day before the event. Volunteers are encouraged to display school spirit by wearing their favorite team clothing.

New Year’s Eve Parade / Spirited Parade

Ybor City is the site of this festive celebration that includes the Outback Bowl Parade on New Year’s Eve and a spirited gathering. The parade will feature floats and marching bands, including the Blue Band and the Arkansas School Band. The Pep Rally features battle teams and fans from both leagues. The events are free and family friendly. The show begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs along Seventh Avenue.

Alumni Association chapters will host viewing parties across the country to cheer on the Nittany Lions. Visit the Alumni Association’s alumni classes page to find a viewing party near you. Also, alumni and fans are encouraged to share party videos and photos, along with best wishes to Nittany Lions, within the Alumni Association’s Facebook event for viewing parties.
