After GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition had a great launch last month, Rockstar ended up giving PC enhanced owners copies of the old versions for free as an apology. The developers have another free gift for those folks now too – you can claim a free copy of GTA V: Premium Edition, GTA IV: Complete Edition, LA Noire, Bully: Scholarship Edition, or Max Payne 3 during the holiday period. Ah, free festive violence.
This offer is available to current owners of the remastered trilogy on PC, or people who purchase it before January 5, 2022. You’ll need to head to the Rockstar Store before that date to claim one of the five games (or you can get them) a load of free virtual money for GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 instead).
This is part of Rockstar’s Christmastime deals, and they’re on sale now, too. Notable features include GTA Trilogy remaster at 20% off, RDR2 at 66% off, and GTA V at 50% off.
If you missed the drama of the GTA Trilogy, not only was it a total mess at its launch, but Rockstar removed it from sale just as quickly as it stepped up because it included a bunch of files it shouldn’t have. The developers apologized, sorted out a few tricks, and then returned both the old trilogy and the Transformers for sale.
The latest patch remastered fixed pouring rain where it shouldn’t be, and a lot of bad spelling on different banners. Depositors took it upon themselves to help with fixes in the spelling section, too.
