Sessions will be live or pre-recorded and can be accessed on the schools’ websites. All students are welcome to participate, regardless of which elementary school they currently attend.
Rainbow Board has produced a guide for students and parents entitled Making the Transition – Finding Your Way from Grade 8 to Grade 9, with information about course codes, study levels, schedules and tips.
The guide can be accessed online and hard copies are available by emailing info@rainbowschools.ca.
For a presentation on the relocation procedure, visit rainbowschools.ca or visit Eastlink OnDemand.
Rainbow High Schools offer opportunities in the arts, athletics, and academics, in both English and French, across all program tracks – independent living, work, apprenticeship, college and university.
The board also has four specialized programmes: the Arts Education Program, the Science and Technology Education Program, the Innovative Integrated Technology Program, and the International Baccalaureate Program. Buses to these programs are offered to students within the greater Sudbury area.
Rainbow High Schools also offer specialized high-skill majors in 13 sectors. SHSMs are specialized, Department of Education approved programs that allow students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements for an Ontario High School Diploma. SHSM assists students in their transition from high school to vocational training, college, university or the workplace.

SHSM is available in agriculture, arts, culture, business, construction, energy, environment, forestry, health and wellness, hospitality, tourism, information and communication technology, manufacturing, mining, sports, and transportation.
Each SHSM is a package of eight to 10 courses in a specific field. Students learn on the job and can earn valuable industry certifications.
Students acquire sector-specific skills and knowledge in engaging in professional learning environments, preparing in a focused manner for graduation and post-secondary education, training or employment.
