Salem Arts Scholarships Available For Graduating Seniors

SALEM, MA — The Salem Arts Association is offering three, $1,000 scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing advanced studies in visual arts, performance and multi-media.

In addition to the annual memorial scholarships honoring Ellen Hardy and Paula Beaulieu, the SAA is offering the new Creative Collective Innovations Award this spring.

The Creative Collective Innovation Award goes to a graduate of any North Shore school who demonstrates creative innovation in visual arts, performances and multi-media.

The Ellen Hardy Memorial Scholarship goes to a graduate from any Salem school, or a student member of the Salem Arts Association, working in any visual art, performance and multi-media.

The Paula Beaulieu Art Scholarship goes to a Salem High School graduating senior working in the visual arts.

“These scholarship awards are an important part of our program to encourage young people to pursue their creative talents and support art education,” the Salem Arts Association said.

Applicants need only apply once and don’t have to specify a scholarship. The SAA scholarship committee will review all applications and award the three winners based on eligibility and other criteria.

The application form can be found here. Applicants will also need an artist statement with five samples representing creative work. Recommendations from teachers are accepted but not necessary.

Applications can be submitted by online, email or traditional mail and are due by midnight on May 1.
