Delaware Community Foundation scholarship applications due March 15

Delaware students are invited to apply for scholarships available through the Delaware Community Foundation. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 15.

Students can apply for most scholarships by submitting a single online application, available at delcf.org/scholarships.

On the website, students can review all criteria and award amounts before beginning the application process. Candidates also can view the foundation’s scholarship compendium, with information on all available scholarships. The online application system guides applicants through a series of questions to determine which scholarships they may be eligible for. Students are automatically considered for every scholarship for which they meet the minimum criteria. There is no cap on the number of scholarships or the amount students may receive. Funding from many of the scholarships may be applied to the costs of textbooks and fees, in addition to tuition. Some are one-time awards, and others are renewable.

The Dr. C. Edward Graybeal Scholarship application period is open for Milford High School graduating seniors who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Award selection is based on a combination of community service, good character and personal recommendations from school faculty or staff. Recipients are eligible to receive a multiyear award totaling $20,000. Applications are due by Tuesday, March 15. To learn more, go to CenDel Foundation’s website at cendelfoundation.org, or visit the Milford High School guidance office.

The late Dr. Graybeal, the scholarship’s namesake, understood the value of financial aid in helping further students’ academic careers. He established a scholarship fund with the help of the CenDel Foundation early in 2017. This fund is used for scholarship grants to educational institutions on behalf of awarded students who qualify under the criteria specified.

CenDel is committed to helping people in central Delaware transform their communities through charitable giving.
