The opportunity to apply for the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation Scholarship for Grand Island Area Students is about to expire.
Applications are due at 4pm 9 February for the GGICF Scholarship Course 2021-22, which has been open since 1 December.
“At the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation, we are fortunate to offer opportunities to a diverse group of students,” said Kendra Lutz, GGICF Program Officer. “There are scholarships for traditional, non-traditional, and current college students for a variety of majors pursued and for students with financial needs, to name a few.”
GGICF offers 140 scholarships to Hall County, Sherman County, and Doniphan-Trumbull students. Students can apply for these scholarships through a single application found at gicf.org/scholarships, which students apply to any scholarships for which they are eligible.
In addition to the many scholarships currently held at GGICF, five additional scholarships have been added for the 2021-22 cycle:
James A. Scholarship Gimbala, for Sherman County graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in nursing.
n The Kane and Galen Leach Trade Scholarships, are for Hall, Howard, Hamilton, or Merrick seniors who attend Nebraska Trade School for HVAC, refrigeration, or appliance repair.
