Scholarship program for Native American students now taking applications – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS — A national scholarship fund for Native American students is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 academic year.

According to a news release, the application period for the American Indian College Fund Full Circle Scholarship program opened on Feb. 1, and will May 31. The scholarship program is open to any Native American US citizen who is an enrolled member, or descendant of an enrolled member, of a state or federally recognized tribe. Applicants must also have a minimum 2.0 grade point average, and plan to enroll as a full-time student at a nonprofit, accredited college or university.

According to the release, hundreds of scholarships are available in all areas of study, and students attending tribal colleges can receive additional scholarship support.

The college fund provided $15.5 million in scholarships 2020-21. Since its founding in 1989, it has provided more than $259 million in scholarships, programmatic and community support. The college fund also supports a variety of academic and support programs at the nation’s 35 accredited tribal colleges and universities.
