AAUW 2022 SCHOLARSHIP: The Warren Trumbull Branch of American Association of University Women is offering a $1,000 scholarship to assist a Trumbull County female student pursuing a college/university degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) or STEAM (science, technology , engineering, arts and mathematics) field of study.

The applicant must be a female resident of Trumbull County and a full-time high school senior. She must be in good academic standing with a 3.2 minimum grade point average (GPA). She must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree-level program at an accredited college or university located in the state by the scholarship award time. Applications must include a transcript, essay and letter of reference from her guidance counselor.

Applications can be requested at AAUW.TrumbullCounty@gmail.com or downloaded from the warrentrumbull-oh.aauw.net website.

The deadline for submission is Feb. 28.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE: The Trumbull County Federation of Women’s Clubs is seeking applicants for three $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to qualified high school students. The scholarship is based on the applicant’s financial need, character and academic achievements with a grade point average of 2.5 or greater. The recipients will apply or enroll, or will have been accepted to an accredited university, college, junior college, or technical/vocational school.

Applications are available through all Trumbull County Schools high school guidance counselors or by contacting Terri Crabbs, scholarship chair at 330-637-3845 or tcrabbs@aol.com. All applications must be received by May 1.

SOCIETY HOSTS FUNDRAISER: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is planning its annual Cookie Table and Cocktails fundraiser 6 to 10 pm Feb. 26 at the Assumption Social Center at St. Mary Catholic Church, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. The cookie baking competition is open for registration by calling 330-743-2589 or at https://mahoninghistory.org/cookie-baker-registration/. Cost for the event is $65 per person or $600 for a VIP table. RSVP is due by Feb. 16.

HUBBARD FOOD PANTRY: Hubbard Christians in Action food pantry has been operating out of the First Baptist Church for a number of years. The food pantry is open to those who live in the Hubbard area. For information, call the church office at 330-534-3727.
