lease: Scholarships for Japanese Studies and Teacher Training are open for applications until February 18th.
The Embassy of Japan said in a press release that eligible Malaysians who wish to pursue their studies in Japan are invited to apply.
During the scholarship period, monthly allowances of approximately 117,000 yen (4,400 RM) per awardee for Japanese studies, and approximately 143,000 yen (5,400 RM) per awardee for teacher training (amount subject to change) will be awarded.
The fees for entrance exams, registration and study in universities will be waived. A round-trip air ticket will also be provided.
1. Japanese Studies (one-year non-degree course of study starting October 2022)
a) Applicants must be between 18 and 29 years old as of April 1, 2022 (born on April 2,
1992 and 1 April 2004).
b) Applicants must be second- or third-year undergraduate students (not final year students) majoring in Japanese language or Japanese culture enrolled in non-Japanese universities.
c) Applicants must be proficient in Japanese.

2. Teacher Training (1 and a half year without degree course from October 2022)
a) Applicants must be under 35 years old as of April 1, 2022 (born on or after April 2, 1987)
b) Applicants must be graduates of a university or a teacher training college who are working as teachers in a primary or secondary school or currently working as academic staff at a teacher training institution with at least five years of experience in their tenure.
c) Applicants must have good knowledge of English and be willing to learn Japanese.
d) The application for the Teacher Training Scholarship (public schools) must be submitted to the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
