The Santa Fe Community Library will be offering a free online lecture from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. February 15 by author Michael McGarrity, entitled “How writers sabotage themselves and what to do about it.” .

Michael McGarrity is a clinical social worker, The New York Times Best-selling novelist with 17 books in print, and founder of the SFCC Creative Writing Scholarship for Richard Bradford Memorial.
The best-selling novelist will discuss the pitfalls aspiring writers face as they strive to break into print. Issues will include setting unrealistic expectations, overcoming rejection, falling into the trap of self-publishing, over-reliance on the opinion of others, reluctance to recognize artistic and creative flaws, and unwillingness to persevere and make lifestyle sacrifices.
