VINELAND – The annual Run for Aaron 5K and 1-mile walk will be held at 9 am April 2, beginning at St. Padre Pio Parish at 4680 Dante Ave.
The event features awards for top three overall winners and top three age group winners, male and female; entertainment provided by BME; and colorful T-shirts for participants who pre-register.
Walkers are welcome, must be registered and stand behind 5K runners at 9 am
Dogs are welcome to walk their owners in the 1-mile event.
Good Day for a Run, www.gooddayforarun.com, will provide the timing.

Entry fees are $20 for the 5k and $15 for the walk through 10 pm March 31.
Proceeds will benefit the Aaron Ploch Memorial Scholarship Fund and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties. Scholarships are awarded yearly to graduating area students.

YMCA programs offer healthy cooking tips, tricks and samples
VINELAND – The “Meal Prepping Made Easy” series at the Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA has programs scheduled for 10 am to 11:30 am April 9 and 23. Members of the community are welcome to attend.
Topics are “Guilt Free Desserts” on April 9 and “One Pot or Pan Combos,” highlighting main dishes that can feed a family in a hurry, on April 23.
Registration is in progress and space is limited.
The fee is $7 for YMCA facility members, $10 for YMCA program members, and $15 for community members; or $5 for YMCA facility or program members who attend virtually. Parents may bring one child, age 5 to 12, at no additional cost.

Learn about the AJ Meerwald and New Jersey’s oyster industry
VINELAND – The Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society will host a presentation, “The AJ Meerwald and New Jersey’s Oyster Industry,” at 1:30 pm April 2.
Attendees will learn about the region’s oyster industry, which provided delicacies in the late 19th-early 20th centuries.
The presentation may be viewed at the museum at 108 S. Seventh St., or via Zoom.
A donation of $5 is suggested and registration is required.

Free Easter dinner distribution planned in Bridgeton; volunteers and donations needed
BRIDGETON – Bethany Grace Community Church, in partnership with the M25 Initiative, will distribute Community Easter Grab N’ Go Dinner Bowls at 1:30 pm April 17, Easter Sunday, in the Fellowship/Outreach Hall at 31 N. Pearl St.
The free dinners will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last. One dinner bowl per individual and individuals must be present.
