South Easton – Superintendent Luis Lopez is pleased to share with you that the school recently hosted alumni and actor Brandon Skiles to talk to students about his acting career.
On Monday, November 22, Skiles visited students at Southeastern’s video, performing arts and plumbing stores.
Skilles is an alumnus of the school’s plumbing program and talks to the students about his journey to becoming an actor. He told the students that he wanted to be an actor at a young age, but that his grandfather wanted him to follow a career path as a plumber.
Skiles continued to realize his dream of acting, and caught the attention of director Peter Berg while filming Patriot Day (2016). Since then, he has been a star in Spencer Confidential (2020) and Free Guy (2021), as well as local documentaries.
Libra also participated in a question and answer session. Students asked him how he mentally prepared for filming, his favorite actors and ways to self-care.
Encourage students to set goals and work on them every day. He stressed the need to withhold negativity and take advantage of any upcoming opportunities.
“We are always happy to welcome Southeastern alumni back to speak with current students,” said Supervisor Lopez. “Brandon had so many valuable tips and lessons to share with our Video, Performing Arts, and Plumbing students, and were excited to ask him questions about his unique career path.”
Skills also visited the Plumbing Store and Boot and Shovel Café, and met Superintendent Lopez, Principal Leslie Wickesser, Assistant Superintendent of Compliance and Human Resources Holly McClannan, and Director of Student Life Christina Guarini.
The school plans to host Mawazine again in the spring.
