TN farmer’s girl receives Rs 3 cr US scholarship for bachelors study

Swega Swaminathan from Kasipalayam Village in Erode District, the daughter of a farmer, was awarded a full scholarship of Rs 3 crore to pursue her Bachelor’s degree at University of Chicago, USA.

The University of Chicago is among the top ten universities in the world.

Swega has been trained and mentored by Dexterity Global under the Leadership Development and Carrier Development Program, according to a statement from the organization.

Sharad Vivek Sagar, founder of Dexterity Global said in a tweet: “This is HUGE. A 17-year-old skill has been accepted to a fellow university student from Erode in Tamil Nadu, the daughter of a small farmer, Swega at the University of Chicago. One of the top 10 universities in the world. Receive a full scholarship of 3 crores.

Sharad Sagar also said that Global Skill is a national not-for-profit organization that works to equip the next generation of leaders through educational and training opportunities.
