Undergraduate Research Week Schedule for April 18-22

Undergraduate Research Week is set for April 18-22, and the U of A is celebrating with a slate of information sessions, panel discussions and advising opportunities, in addition to its annual poster competition.

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, April 19

Undergrad Research Opportunities for Underrepresented Students
10:30-11:30 am — Zoom
Join a panel of faculty who will discuss undergraduate research opportunities for underrepresented students! Open to all majors. Hear from the experts on how to get involved, what to expect and the value of engaging in undergraduate research. Join on Zoom here.

Marketing Your Research Info Session
1-3:30 pm — Zoom
You’ve spent all this time on your research. Now, how do you make sure you are marketing it in the best possible way to potential employers, grad schools or professional schools? Join us for this quick workshop on presenting your research in resumes and interviews/elevator speeches and how to effectively make use of your grant blogs. Join on Zoom here.

Wednesday, April 20

Research Poster Session
12:30-2:30 pm — Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom
Join us for a drop-in research poster session, featuring undergraduate students’ research! Come see great examples of research and chat with students about their work. There will be several information tables from offices across campus, including the Inquiry Journal, graduate school, Walton grad programs, the libraries, ONCA and more! Cookies, coffee and lemonade provided. For each of the nine research categories, a $100 prize will be awarded for the first place, $75 for the second place and $50 for the third place.

Marketing Your Research Drop-In Advising
10 am to noon — CORD Career Studio

Introduction to Undergraduate Research
4-4:30 pm — CORD Career Studio (room 127)
Are you interested in engaging in undergraduate research? Start here! We’ll cover the important info you need to know about what research is, who you’ll work with and how to get started.

Undergraduate Research Week is a collaboration among the Division of Research and Innovation, the Honors College and the University Libraries.
