Uploading Your Vaccine Info, Omicron Variant

As previously mentioned, we are now launching an expanded set of vaccination verification, in accordance with the Biden Administration’s COVID-19 Workplace Safety: Guidelines for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors.

Faculty, students, staff, and administrators must now Download their vaccination information.

  • The deadline for uploading information is closing January 14, 2022.
  • Students who have already uploaded their information to the Student Health Portal and have their information verified do not need to do so again.
  • You may also be asked to upload your information when logging in to PirateNet. Please note that there is a delay between uploading and our review; If you upload your card and get a prompt at a later login to PirateNet, choose the option that says you have already uploaded your information.
  • Non-vaccinated individuals must declare a medical or religious exemption.
  • Those who do not upload their information or declare an exemption by the January 14 deadline may be denied access to PirateNet and related systems.

Health officials at Omicron Variant Concerns

The arrival of the Omicron variant is closely monitored. The state’s transmission rate remains above 1, and cases are increasing. We monitor public and university health statistics and government guidance.

Booster shots are available; get one

The State of New Jersey notes that everyone 5 years of age or older is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in New Jersey and is encouraged to receive the vaccination as soon as possible.

Vaccines are widely available – in pharmacies, hospitals, health facilities and other places. Find out where you or a loved one can find a vaccination appointment at covid19.nj.gov/finder.

the arrival of influenza season; Get a flu shot

Officials expect flu season to be stronger than usual, given last year’s nearly no outbreak. Like COVID, your best defense is to get vaccinated. Health services provide flu vaccinations to students. We strongly encourage you to get a flu shot.

University update

  • There have been 11 new cases since last week’s report.
  • As of December 1, the five-day moving average of positive cases is 1.4
  • 0 is busy in quarantine beds and isolation on campus.
  • There are 11 individuals in isolation.
  • The entire campus community has a vaccination rate of 90.5% with 98% of those fully vaccinated. We are especially grateful to our students, faculty and staff for doing their part; Through their efforts, we have a highly vaccinated university community.

This is all good news; However, with the holidays and the colder weather, we remain vigilant and prepared in case cases spike.

The test is available through the health services

The university follows the testing guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State of New Jersey, and the health services have a large number of testing supplies. Students (vaccinated and unvaccinated) may request a COVID-19 test as frequently as once a week.
