Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath transfers scholarships of Rs 450 crore to 12 lakh students | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred scholarships worth Rs 459 crore to 12.17 lakh crore student accounts on Thursday. This was the second batch of scholarship funds released by the government, after the first was transferred to around 57 students on October 2.
Attributing the delay in scholarship distribution and admission to the Covid-19 related closures, CM said a large number of schools, colleges and technical institutes were unable to start their session and this was due to late admission which was funded issued in instalments.
Students should have no problem paying the fees or purchasing any type of course materials for themselves. The concerned departments and colleges should ensure that the admission process for the various educational institutions in the state is completed by December 30 so that scholarship funds can be transferred to the accounts of eligible students as soon as possible.”
In his interaction with students from various regions, CM told them that the government will soon start distributing tablets and smartphones to university students.
Explaining the plan to them, he said it would be given free of charge to students in various universities, engineering institutes, polytechnics, ITI, nursing, paramedics and various other undergraduate and graduate courses starting in mid-December.
He encouraged students to take advantage of schemes like Abhyudaya Yojana, under which the government provides free training to students who are eligible for competitive examinations.
The director of the center said, “The government is working to provide equal and massive opportunities to the students in the state itself and as a result many students who have themselves enrolled in the Abhidaya training have achieved outstanding results in the competitive examinations.”
