What: The Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown will award up to two $1,000 scholarships for the 2022-23 school year for students pursuing a degree in horticulture, landscape design or floriculture. Applicants must reside in Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Stark or Portage counties in Ohio or Mercer or Lawrence counties in Pennsylvania.

Naturalist Series: Aquatic Invasives
When: Thursday, April 7, 6:30 pm
What: A discussion of aquatic invasive species (AIS) that have invaded Ohio. The talk will cover some history of invasives in North America and the state, discuss the regulatory/management setting for AIS, and some ways in which volunteers can assist in the fight against biological invasions. The seminar will finish by reviewing some species of concern that are recently on the move.

Fruit Tree and Blueberry Pruning Clinic
When: Noon to 2:30 pm April 9
What: Learn about tools, and pruning both new trees and bigger trees in the orchard — apples and peaches. An opportunity with pruning blueberries will be offered at the end of class. Clinic held rain or shine. Dress warm for outdoor activities. Bring lawn chair for seating.
Location: White House Fruit Farm, Canfield.
Cost: $30, includes a set of hand pruners, or $34 with a pruning saw.
