VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria Electric Cooperative is offering high school seniors college scholarships through unclaimed capital credit money. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is March 1, 2022.
Scholarship applications are available to high school seniors through the areas which VEC serves. Any graduating high school senior whose parent or guardian is employed by VEC or a member is eligible to apply. The application must be complete by March 1, though.
VEC promotes the youth scholarship program. The scholarship program is made possible each year and funded by unclaimed capital credit money. This money is normally turned over to the state. You must fill out the application completely and meet all the requirements in order to qualify as an eligible candidate.
The following criteria will be taken into consideration when applying for the scholarship:
- students’ diversification of skills, hobbies, interest, past civic engagement and volunteer efforts
- students’ leadership capabilities,
- and students’ grade point average
